Loving Mollie Makes and a Giveaway.


Have you discovered Mollie Makes yet?

If not you are in for a treat. Great magazine out of the UK that launched this year and has had 4 issues to date. Each page is filled with great stories and projects that it is hard to know where to start. A publication like this reinforces how far the new craft revolution has come and shows that it is practically main stream now.

I have free copies of Issues 3 and 4 as well as a felt ring project kit to give away this week (thanks Amanda). Leave a comment below telling me what crafty thing you have made that you are most proud of.

    That is a really hard question! Probably anything I have made for my children e.g. doona covers, sewing box, mermaids tail, bionicle costume:) Cyndy

    When my Daughter was at primary school she was taller than everyone else so I found it difficult to get school dresses to fit, I made her some gorgeous dresses, much nicer than the ones in the shops, and now 15 years later they are being worn by my niece at the same school! I am so proud every time I see her in them. Now I am knitting her a school cardigan to go with them.

    Helen T: would have to be a very hard open lacework crochet doily that I made for a friend as a thank you. Would love to have kept it cant bring myself to make another one.

    I find that the answer changes when I finish something new especially if it is the first time doing a new craft. So I am most proud of the needle punch that I just finished yesterday. I thought I knew what I was doing but didn't like the results so after reading on the web (research) I pulled out most of it and tried again. The results are worth the effort.

    Hi,

    I am most proud of my first cushion I made from scratch, just after learning to sew on a machine earlier this year! I gave it to my mum as a birthday present, and she loved it so much she asked me to make a matching cover for her seat cushion so they could go together!

    I would love to win these two issues, I missed out on them and only have issue 5 so it would be fantastic to catch up! I would especially like to be able to make the gorgeous little biscuits!

    Lately I havebeen working on fabric checkbook covers and keychains. I am totally in love with them! It is almost craft fair time here so im in a mad rush to complete projects.

    I am most proud of a little dress I made for my little grandaughter. It was admired so much I began selling them at the end of May and astonishingly I have now sold over 80 little dresses on-line. I don't think it would be wrong to say that I'm very proud of myself :0)

    I am most proud of the crochet blanket that I made for my youngest daughter. It was made up of lacy squares that had 3d roses on the centre of each square. I added a frill to the edge which wasn't even in the pattern! I made this for her after teaching myself to crochet on you tube, and crocheted most of it at each hospital appointment I had during my pregnancy!

    With my current obsession with owls, I felt it necessary to spread the love and make owls from felt. I use shrunken jumpers for the felt, vintage contrasting material for the features and salvaged buttons for the eyes. I love them and try to make at least one a week even though I work full time! This is my first experience with making anything and I am proud of how lovely they look and how i'm re-using and re-cycling!

    I think it would have to be the crochet blanket I made when I was about 15. My beautiful granny had made one and I wanted to be like her. I still have both of them and I'm now 52. Beautiful memories, and am now working out a colour scheme to make myself another one. I just have to remember how to crochet again.lol.

    I taught myself to crochet late last year and it took quite a while to undertsnd how to do it, I finally got 'it' and crocheted myself a queen size granny stripe blanket in 10 weeks, I am so proud of it and I love it so much and am so glad I persisted. I have not been able to afford a hard copy of Mollie Makes, I download it, but didn't get issue 4.

    I have recently learned how to crochet and have just finished my cute vintage blue and antique white granny square cushion... I love it and am very proud of my first crochet piece! I'm also very proud of my mollie makes hanging flower...have a look at my blog for pictures. Love Mollie Makes mag...

    My biggest achievement would have to be a softbook I made for my now 5 year old for her first birthday. She still loves to look at it and admires the fabrics and colours. You can see it on my blog at www.mellebugandme.wordpress.com under softbook tutorial

    The last thing I made was a curtain for the bathroom, and that was some time ago now. Just picking up sewing and making things again while I hobble around on crutches having torn a cartilage in my knee. Digging out allsorts of things and getting very excited at the thought of getting creative again. Lots of inspiration on your website, so glad my friend passed the info on to me!

    I made a pillow for my parents caravan not long ago and gave it to them as a going away gift, I hand embroided the caravan and car on the front which took me so many hours in front of the television so I am very proud of it

    I made a castle out of cardboard boxes for my 4 yr old recently for her unicorns and fairies and it has a draw bridge that I thought was clever ;) my little one loves it and helped glue fabric on the outside of it so it looks like a patchwork castle :) better than bought!! <3

    I am most proud of the dollhouses I made for my kids. It was my first pattern/super unique idea inspired completely by them and their own interests. They really treasure them!!

    Not so much for my kids but this summer I made about 100 capes for kids cancer ward in FL. This made me feel so good that I was putting a smile on very sick kids...

    The protect I'm most proud off, was a challenge submission of a bottle art doll. I went in it with an idea and did the opposite, making me discover a new artistic side.

    Hi! Love to make/ create just about anything with fibers-love color and all those supplies!!
    I learned a lace knitting stitch from you tube that I just could not understand without a video visual- it's a great resource!! Also love Mollie Makes!! I was fortunate to find issues 1 and 3 but unless I subscribe I'm never going to find it where I live :(

    My craftiness covers a range of different techniques... paper-craft, card-making, cross stitch, chainmaille, knitting, sewing... I'm working on two big projects at the moment - a french-knitted rug (which is looking so cosy!) and a cross-stitched Chinese dragon wall-hanging. However, my favourite finished pieces are a beautiful chainmaille necklace I made out of aluminium and pretty leaf-shaped scales, and a keyring I cross-stitched for my boyfriend which he absolutely loves :)

    There are actually two items that I am most proud of. When my daughter was a wee one, I made a quilted "window" wall hanging depicting a window looking out to a hillside with farm animals and a stream. I also made a quilted life size fireplace for a home that didn't have one - how else would Santa visit. This was eventually donated to a nursing home.

    I made my boyfriend's best friend an Eric Morecombe doll for his birthday - it was the first plushie I'd made and I was really happy with the results! Then I made my boyfriend a Tommy Cooper doll because he felt left out! :)

    a couple of years ago when my kids where little, i made them a bumble bee and a dwarf outfit for the spring party on school, they where little cuties ...and it looks like they where from a fairy book.

    I have dabbled in all sorts of crafts all of my life. I think I am proudest of the pale orange jumper I knitted when I was 12 - it had cables along the raglan sleeve seams. My best friend was jealous as she could only knit garter stitich - 43 years later we still bring it up and we still chuckkle over her jealousy!.
    (it's Ok - she ws a faster runner than me so it all evened out)

    Karen Gard I'm most proud of the bags I make. The latest I made was for when I went to hospital and so many people love it now it is our beach bag. A friend asked me to make a pink one for her friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer.

    I am most proud of the quilt I made when my daughter was born to use when we went to mothers group etc. It was my first time quilting and the blocks were not easy for a beginner. I just made it up as I went- always received lovely comments.

    Thanks for the chance at one of these awesome magazines! I just found issue 3 and am in LOVE!

    I made my son's nursery bedding, including large quilt for the wall. I've only taken a sewing class in high school (a LONG time ago)... so I was really excited that it all turned out. :)

    I am recently proud of a library bag I made for my son with this great Dr. Seuss fabric (loving Dr. Seuss at the moment). It wasn't a particularly tricky project, but the fact that my son keeps saying "I just can't believe you made this Mum!" makes it so satisfying. Kerri C.

    My children are the best thing I have made. Apart from them I love the simple felt heart my first craft project years ago and it states "Home is where the heart is" Thats so true.

    Great giveaway. Found you through molly makes on Facebook. I'm most proud of the knitted rainbow dress I made for my daughter. It was the first project I'd ever knitted in the round and I've only been knitting for a year! It's so pretty and it makes me smile every time she wears it. Kat

    I am most proud of the christmas stockings I made for my girls, It was the first thing I tackled with a sewing machine that I got when my nan passed away and everyone thought they looked good. Since then I have tackled 2 cushions and I am now trying out a quilt!
