Pro Blogger Gold Coast Shopping Day
Tuesday, September 17, 2013I have just returned from a fabulous 3 days on the Gold Coast staying in Surfers Paradise attending the Problogger Training Event.
This was my first event and it totally exceeded my expectations and am already eagerly awaiting details for 2014. You can read more about what I learnt on my business blog over at janinalear.com.au and I learnt a lot.
The event was held at the QT Hotel which was ridiculously fabulous. Sadly I was not a guest but I did spend a lot of time there and would 100% stay there next time.
From the moment you enter the place just oozes cool and quirkiness and makes you feel a little happier than usual.
We were greeted in the lobby by this fabulous lemonade and iced tea stand with cute little glass bottles and straws to enjoy. Super cute!!!
They had these super cool cruiser bikes for hire, if only we had of had time.
The food we were served throughout the day was total torture for someone (i.e me) being sugar free. I may have had the teensiest, tiniest taste of the rocky road and ice cream. I mean who can resist an ice cream served out of a combi van with a lolly bar by the side?
On Sunday Queensland Tourism treated 7 of us to a fabulous day of shopping with Amanda from Shop in Style . We started by visiting The Village Markets (TVM). Obviously a gal who runs Piccadilly Market loves a market and this was a goodie. We were greeted by this fabulous brunch which eased us into a few hours of shopping and shop we did. I highly recommend visiting this market if it is on when you visit.
Our next stop was at the fashion house of Leina Broughton and again we were hosted so fabulously by the girls there. The clothing was divine and a label I will definitely be following. The fabric is beautiful, stretchy and lasts for years and the best thing is NO IRONING.
From there we went to Robina Town Centre which is a massive shopping centre with every store you could possibly want. It also has a great entertainment precinct with lots of restaurants and a state of the art cinema complex.
The only way to recover from a day of shopping is with a High Tea which was at the Sofitel Gold Coast and was very yummy indeed. I was faced with a truckload of sugar again, very hard to restrain one self.
Honestly I did not think I would enjoy Surfers as much as I did. I have not been in so long but would be happy to go back and explore some more.
