Grand Afternoon Tea at the Vue Grand in Queenscliff
Wednesday, April 15, 2015Hands up if you love a high tea? Who am I kidding? Everyones hands will be in the air.
Last Sunday I was lucky enough to experience the Vue Grand's take on a high tea, their grand afternoon tea. I took my bestie aka Peggy and my Mum Krystyna all in our Sunday fines. From the moment we arrived we were whisked into another world. We were greeted in the foyer area with a choice of Pimms (YUM and a recent new fave), Champagne or pink lemonade.
We were then welcomed into the magnificent dining room and seated where there was a selection of finger sandwiches to begin with and offered tea. We all loved that the table had mismatched teacups that have been sourced from local op shops.
We were entertained by a gentleman on the grand piano who added an old world feel and ambience to the experience.
Next on the menu was this delicious plate of delicate, super delicious gourmet morsels followed by some amazing scones with jam and cream.
and then the moment we had been waiting for and looking at, the decadent dessert table. I particularly loved the lemon meringue shot glasses and the trifle martini glasses.
This really was like stepping back in time and far from the madding crowd and just enjoying the moment and company. So so so lovely. These grand afternoon teas are being run once a month and a super special one being held on Mothers Day weekend. Any Mum young or old would LOVE this experience.
I am also super keen to check out the Faulty Towers dining experience also held once a month.
I could quite easily indulge in this grand afternoon tea more than once so until next time.
