What to READ, WATCH, COOK AND LISTEN to in isolation

NOT QUITE THE 10TH BIRTHDAY I HAD PLANNED

This Sunday was supposed to be  the first Deakin event of 2020, full of celebration, high fives, people and laughter but life had other plans and we find ourselves being part of history instead. Who could have dreamt of this scenario playing out!

My heart goes out to anyone who has lost a loved one to Covid19. I also want to acknowledge anyone who has lost their job, business and income. Anyone who has had to postpone a life celebration or only celebrate it with a handful of people...and all the other crazy scenarios that could be playing out in your life.

All we can do is.....

I have no idea what is going to happen with events but I do hope that I can bring all the Makers back to you in one of our venues sooner rather than later. In the meantime I am working on something fabulous that I hope will be revealed in the coming weeks.

I am going to be honest and say that the first few weeks of this madness had me quietly rocking in the corner, filled with grief and fear of the unknown. Slowly, slowly I am accepting the new normal and beginning to make lemonade out of lemons as they say.  Slowly getting through my "if I ever had time" list. Somedays I am a motivated human and other days I am a sloth and can barely get out of my PJ's and I have decided that it is perfectly normal and OK. Forget what your socials tell you, you should be doing. Now is not the time to set unachievable Be gentle with yourself, read books, binge some Netflix, cook something new and different.

You don't have to be productive when you're at home, quarantined.

"Don't think of introversion as something that needs to be cured... spend your free time the way you like, not the way you think you're supposed to."— Susan Cain

I have put together a list of things you can do or not do.

Right at the beginning of Isolation I bought my girls journals to record their COVID experience in for future generations and then stumbled across this the other day from LONG CREATIONS.

They have an ADULTS and a KIDS version as well as a few other cool ones like Mums to Be which you can check out HERE
